Vaping CBD might not be as popular as using CBD oil as a tincture, but there are some awesome CBD vape juice brands out there looking to change things. Good CBD e-juice packs as much of a punch as a tincture and combines the pleasant effects of CBD with delicious, vape-style flavors or natural terpenes. But if you end up with a bad one, you might not feel the effects as much as you want and the flavor might not be what you expected based on the name. The good news is that there is enough competition in the area that if you spend some time looking for the best CBD vape juice, you’ll undoubtedly get something great.

How we tested the CBD e-liquids: To put together this list, we’ve tested out the most well-known and widely-loved CBD e-juice brands out there and ranked them based on their flavor, effects and other important factors like price and whether they have lab reports to back up things like the potency. We started from a list of over 30 popular CBD e-liquids, and whittled the list down to 15 options, which we re-tested extensively to come up with these unbiased recommendations. So here are our picks. (See how we test.)

8 Best CBD Vape Juice Brands

Our picks aren’t some definitive “best CBD e-juice” list: people are looking for different things from their CBD e-liquid and our system reflects that. Each juice on the list earns their spot for a specific reason:

Best Overall: CBDfx $39.99
Strongest: Just CBD $12
Best Value: Savage CBD $15.99
Best For Anxiety: Plain Jane $29.99
Best Full Spectrum: Funky Farms $8.99
Best THC-Free: Koi CBD $19.99
Best PG-Free: Blue Moon Hemp $49
Best Tasting: Erth $19.99

Best Overall: CBDfx

CBDfx is one of the most widely-recommended CBD brands regardless of the type of product, and their CBD e-juice is no exception. The brand offers nine flavors: five with a more vape-like flavor and the remaining four using terpenes to produce an authentic hemp flavor. Our specific pick is the Blue Raspberry, which has more of a vape-like flavor but it hits the intended notes extremely well, and the 500 mg CBD version (at 16.7 mg/ml) does a really good job when it comes to effects. I vaped it through the day and it provided a pleasant undercurrent of calm that allowed me to get by stress-free.

Pros & Cons

  • CBD isolate based e-liquids
  • Use high quality food-grade ingredients
  • Excellent flavor
  • Calming, chilled effects
  • Either terpene or vape style flavors
  • 50/50 PG/VG mix works in most tanks
  • 500, 1,000 or 2,000 mg of CBD per 30 ml bottle (16.7, 33.3 or 66.7 mg/ml) look clean – fully tested for pesticides, solvents, heavy metals, and mycotoxins : A+

  • Price isn’t expensive but higher than others in the list – $0.07 per mg
  • Not good if you want other cannabinoids too
  • Small bottle shape may be difficult to hold for people with a disability

Strongest: Just CBD

The CBD e-juice from Just CBD is the best option out there if you’re looking for the strongest CBD e-liquid. As well as the flavors being delicious, they’re available in 250 mg (4.2 mg/ml), 500 mg (8.3 mg/ml), 1,000 mg (16.7 mg/ml), 1,500 mg (25 mg/ml) and 3,000 mg (50 mg/ml) strengths. The 3,000 mg is a great option if you want to minimize your vaping or if you need to use a lot of CBD for things like sleep and anxiety. Blue Dream is a blueberry flavor that gets the authentic flavor across, while having a calming yet focusing effect.

Pros & Cons

  • Plenty of options for CBD strength (up to 50 mg/ml)
  • Eight flavors to choose from
  • Excellent price – $0.02 per mg of CBD

  • Calming effect, also helped with focus at 4.2 mg/ml

  • PG/VG ratio not clearly listed
  • No other cannabinoids (only isolate)
  • Lab reports don’t test for pesticides and heavy metals

Best Value: Savage CBD

If you’re looking for cheap CBD vape juice, there are quite a few options out there (including Just CBD), but our pick is Savage CBD. The juice works out at just $0.02 per mg of CBD (although there is technically a “sale” on, it seems to be permanent). For such a good price, you might be expecting a disappointing e-juice, but it’s fantastic. The flavors are well captured – Passion in particular – and the higher strength especially hits hard in terms of effects. You feel it straight away and are left with a powerful sense of calm that you just have to top up through the day.

Pros & Cons

  • Seven excellent flavors to choose from
  • 250, 500 or 1,000 mg of CBD per 30 ml (8.3, 16.6 or 33.3 mg/ml)
  • Hard to beat price of $0.02 per mg
  • Well-captured flavors
  • 30 ml bottles with glass dropper

  • Great for anxiety
  • Full lab reports/COAs available

  • Only vape-like flavors available – no terpenes
  • No other cannabinoids present
  • Don’t state PG/VG ratio

Best for Anxiety: Plain Jane

Although most CBD is good for anxiety – because relaxation is one of the main effects – some do a better job than others. Plain Jane gets our pick for best CBD vape juice for anxiety, and it’s pretty affordable too at just $0.03 per mg of CBD. They have four flavors available – Strawberry Cheesecake, Tropical, Blue Razz and Green Apple – which are all vape-style but executed really well. Blue Razz is our pick, but Strawberry Cheesecake is also excellent. They all have 1,000 mg of CBD in a 30 ml bottle (33.3 mg/ml strength), which works really well if you’re also looking for a strong CBD e-juice. Soon after vaping you’re hit with the calming effect and it sticks with you for hours.

Pros & Cons

  • Excellent price $29.99 per bottle/$0.03 per mg
  • 1000 mg CBD per bottle (33.3 mg/ml)
  • Four delicious flavors to choose from
  • Long-lasting calming effect
  • Smooth vape with no burn
  • THC free
  • Lab reports/COAs available

  • Only tested for potency and residual solvents
  • Lab report on site shows inaccurate CBD labeling
  • No choice of strength

Best Full Spectrum: Funky Farms

Although it’s difficult to find full spectrum CBD vape juice, there is a fantastic broad spectrum option from Funky Farms. They offer two flavors – Blueberry Gelato or Peach Tangie – in either 250 or 500 mg for the 15 ml bottle (16.7 or 33.3 mg per ml), with some CBC and CBN in the mix too. The amounts are smaller than you’ll find in some cartridges, but it’s still enough to differentiate it from the CBD-only options. The effects are soothing, leaving you feeling relaxed and content, and the Blueberry Gelato especially is delicious.

Update: Funky Farms CBD juices are currently out of stock, though they have a number of CBD pens and cartridges available instead.

Pros & Cons

  • Broad-spectrum extraction
  • CBC and CBN as well as CBD
  • Two great flavors, especially Blueberry Gelato
  • Relaxing and pleasing effect
  • Great price – $0.03 per mg ($15.99 for 500 mg)
  • 50/50 PG/VG mix
  • Good options for strength: 16.7 or 33.3 mg/ml
  • Needle-tipped bottle
  • Lab reports/COAs available

  • Frequently runs out of stock
  • Other cannabinoids are only in very low amounts
  • Some people say it burns their throat
  • Only 15 ml bottles

Best THC-Free: Koi

Most CBD vape juice is THC-free, but Koi CBD has one of the best examples you can find. They offer six excellent flavors that can still really pack a punch in terms of effects. Our pick is Blue Raspberry Dragon Fruit, but Vanilla Caramel Custard is also delicious. The effects depend a lot on your chosen strength (with options of 8.3 mg/ml, 16.7 mg/ml or 33.3 mg/ml), but for the lowest strength they were quite mild but definitely calming as I vaped through the day. The flavor has a fruity sharpness that works really nicely as a CBD vape juice flavor.

Pros & Cons

  • CBD isolate vape juice
  • Excellent flavors
  • Three strengths 250 mg (8.3 mg/ml), 500 mg (16.7 mg/ml) and 1,000 mg (33.3 mg/ml)
  • Calming effect
  • Pretty good price ($0.05 per mg)
  • Full lab reports/COAs available
  • THC level less than 0.001%
  • Store lists CBD content in mg/ml

  • No listing of PG/VG ratio
  • No other cannabinoids
  • No terpenes in the flavors

Best PG-Free: Blue Moon Hemp

If you’re looking for a PG-free CBD vape juice, there aren’t many options. The problem is that you need PG to dissolve CBD isolate, so the best you can do is something with low PG. Blue Moon Hemp have met this need perfectly: combining 70% VG with a corn-derived version of PG at 30%. They offer five different flavors, including two hemp options (Pure and Kush) and three vape-style flavors (RedDevil, Flan and Mango Moon). Kush earns our pick, for both the authentic flavor and the 33.3 mg/ml potency. The effects hit quickly and are ideal for easing anxiety and even helping with pain.

Pros & Cons

  • As close to PG-free as you can get without MCT
  • Both terpene-derived and vape-like flavors available
  • Well-captured flavors
  • Strong, calming effect
  • 1,000 mg of CBD per 30 ml (33.3 mg/ml)
  • Decent price of $0.05 / mg
  • THC free, but other cannabinoids included
  • Lab reports/COAs available
  • Bottles labeled with CBD strength in mg/ml

  • “Broad spectrum” technically but the amounts are very low
  • No choice of strength
  • Only tested for potency – no safety checks

Best Tasting: Erth

Erth originally got started by offering CBD tinctures and edibles, but after branching out into CBD e-liquid they quickly became one of the best CBD vape oil brands for flavor. Juicy Watermelon is the perfect example of this, combining two complementary fruits to produce something simple but realistic and delicious. It either comes in 500 mg (16.7 mg/ml) or 1,000 mg (33.4 mg/ml) of CBD, which isn’t as strong as some, but it still offers a strong enough effect to keep you relaxed through the day. The flavor is the biggest selling-point though – it really can’t be beat.

Pros & Cons

  • Excellent flavor
  • 500 mg (16.7 mg/ml) and 1000 mg (33.4 mg/ml) strengths
  • Good price of $0.04 per mg
  • Gentle, calming effect
  • CBD isolate (no THC)
  • 30 ml bottles
  • Lab report/COAs available (view COA)
  • 30 day money-back guarantee
  • Offers a 3.7mL sample so you can try out different flavors

  • Not too strong – a 1,000 mg option would be good
  • No other cannabinoids
  • Doesn’t specify PG/VG ratio
  • Not tested for safety, just potency

How We Tested the CBD E-Liquids

Once we’d settled on a shortlist of fifteen different CBD e-liquids, we got a bottle of each and put them to the vape test. Photo: CBD Oracle

Testing makes or breaks a list like this. While some CBD vape juice flavors might look good on paper, the reality of the situation is sometimes different. Maybe the flavor doesn’t come through as much as you were expecting, maybe the balance of components is off, and maybe the CBD doesn’t have as much impact as the strength suggests it should. That’s why the choices on this list were based on extensive, unbiased first-hand testing.

We independently tested over fifteen CBD vape juice products to recommend the best options available. Photo: CBD Oracle

After putting together a big list of the options that are out there, especially the most recommended options, we set about comparing them. This includes taking into account the mg/ml of CBD, the cost per mg of CBD, and a general investigation into how transparent the company is with things like lab reports.

Once we’d settled on a shortlist of 15 different CBD e-liquids, we got a bottle of each and put them to the vape test. After spending at least a day vaping each, we eventually settled on the finalists. Most of the testing was done on the same tank – a sub ohm vape tank – but we also had a pod system on hand for the ones we could confirm were 50/50 PG/VG. Guide to Buying the Best CBD E-Juice

If you’re interested in picking up some CBD vape juice but might want to go beyond the options above, learning the basics about choosing good CBD e-juice is a crucial step. In particular, it’s good to know what to look for and what to avoid when you’re shopping, how long a bottle is likely to last and how to work out things like the strength you’ll need. Luckily, this is all quite straightforward once you’ve covered the basics.

What to Look For

  • Total CBD: One of the most important things to establish is the total amount of CBD in the e-liquid. This tells you how much you get in each ml of e-juice (simply divide the total by the number of ml in the bottle). If you know roughly how much CBD you need per day, you can use this as a basis for your calculations.
  • PG/VG ratio: The amount of VG to PG is an important thing to check. Generally, higher PG levels will work better with simpler tank systems, and carry flavor better, but they can be harsher on your throat. Higher VG makes smoother vapor and bigger clouds, but thickens the mixture, so you’ll need a sub ohm tank or similar to vape it well.
  • CBD isolate?Broad spectrum? Most CBD vape juice is what’s known as “isolate.” This just means that the only thing you get is CBD, with no extra cannabinoids in the mix. “Broad-spectrum” extractions include other cannabinoids too. Generally the amounts of these are lower than the amount of CBD, but the others complement the CBD through the “entourage effect.” Isolate is good, but if you want more than just CBD, broad spectrum is a great choice. THC is also included in “full spectrum” extractions.
  • Terpenes or other flavors: Although terpene-flavored CBD vape juices aren’t as common as you might expect, there are options that produce a cannabis or hemp-like flavor by incorporating them. If you want something more “flavored” – tasting like fruits, desserts or anything like that – you should go for a non-terpene CBD e-juice.
  • Source of the hemp: After the passing of the 2018 Farm Bill, farmers in the US have to follow safety guidelines when producing their hemp. This makes US-grown hemp a great option, but other options (like European) are also good. The main thing is that you should be able to find out easily – if you can’t see where it’s from, choose another juice.
  • Lab reports/COAs: The company you buy from should have lab reports available to check. While testing for cannabinoids to ensure purity and labeling accuracy is good, the best reports also include safety tests (for things like residual solvents or pesticides).
  • Reputation: It’s best to check around online before you buy CBD vape juice from a company. Ideally, choose a company with a good reputation, including both positive reviews of the product and positive things about the company themselves. If a company has a lot of people complaining, there is probably a reason behind it.

Things to Avoid

  • MCT or other oils: CBD vape “oil” is a misnomer. You should never vape actual oil, because it can lead to lung issues or even conditions like lipoid pneumonia. So your CBD vape juice shouldn’t contain MCT, coconut oil or any other oils or fats. PG and VG aren’t perfect, but they don’t lead to this type of issue when inhaled.
  • Unknown companies: A company nobody has heard of might be a hidden gem, but they probably aren’t. If you can’t find much about them online, you’d be better off choosing a company with a good track record.
  • No lab report/COA: If there’s no lab report, you can’t confirm that what you’re buying is what they’re claiming, and so any company without them should be avoided.

Can You Vape CBD Oil?

CBD Oil and CBD Vape Juice are two different things. If you want to vape, make sure to get “CBD Vape Juice” and not “CBD Oil”. Photo: Koi

CBD oil – meaning, a tincture of CBD – is not intended for vaping. CBD vape juice usually contains VG (vegetable glycerin) and PG (propylene glycol), because these are easy to vaporize and assumed to be reasonably safe to inhale.

The key difference is that CBD oil uses oil or fats as a carrier for the CBD. If you inhale something with fats and oils, it can cause lipoid pneumonia and other lung issues. In short, the long-chained molecules get caught up in the networks of your airways and cause trouble, especially as they accumulate. Although some companies may use coconut oil or MCT in a CBD e-juice, you should not use them – unfortunately the companies aren’t always well-informed.

So for CBD oil vs. CBD vape juice, there are key characteristics of each:

  • Is intended for sublingual (under the tongue) or oral use
  • Contains MCT, coconut oil or usually other fats/oils
  • Is not suitable to inhale
  • Often has a hemp-like flavor from terpenes
CBD Vape Juice
  • Uses PG and VG
  • Doesn’t contain any fats, just the carriers, CBD and flavors
  • No major issues for inhalation
  • Usually flavored like fruit or dessert
  • Can also be used as a tincture (although it isn’t usually that pleasant)

How Does CBD Vape Juice Make You Feel?

CBD vape juice can have varying effects, depending on the dose, if there are other cannabinoids present and your personal reaction to CBD. That said, if you have some CBD e-liquid, it will probably just contain CBD and the most common effects are:

  • Relaxation
  • Comfort
  • Reduced anxiety and stress
  • Pain relief
  • Mood improvement
  • Tiredness/sleepiness (in high doses)
  • Alertness (in low doses)

Of course, this is just a list of generic effects – your subjective experience of it may differ. For example, the most notable effect for me is the relaxation, like an undercurrent of calm sticking with me after vaping. But if you’re experiencing pain, for example, the pain relief will probably be the biggest difference you notice.

How Long Does CBD Vape Juice Last in Your System?

You might be wondering about two (related) things here: how long do the effects of CBD vape juice last, and how long will the CBD be detectable in my system?

The effects of CBD last for between one and six hours, depending on the dose you take, your specific physiology and the method you used to consume it. Vaping is generally faster-acting and quicker to end, so you can expect to feel the effects within ten minutes (as little as a few minutes) and it to last for a few hours.

For how long it will be detectable in your system, Vaping360 points out the differences between half lives between oral use (a tincture or capsule, say) and for inhaled aerosols. Research suggests that the half life for aerosols is about an hour and a half (technically between 1 and 2.4 hours), and it takes 5.5 half lives for something to clear your system. This means it takes between 6 and 12 hours for CBD to completely leave your system. However, this could easily be longer if you consume regularly or large amounts.

How Much CBD Can You Vape Per Day?

There are again two separate issues here: firstly, what’s the recommended daily dosage of CBD, and secondly, how much can you vape safely?

In theory, you can vape at least up to 1,500 mg of CBD per day without issues. The number for you might be higher than this, or you might start to get some unpleasant symptoms at much lower doses than this. The most common symptoms of taking too much CBD are dry mouth, nausea, stomach issues like diarrhea, drowsiness and disorientation or dizziness.

This isn’t really likely to happen though. Firstly – and most importantly – any generally recommended dose of CBD will be much lower than this. Most people start on between 20 and 40 mg per day, and increase gradually from there as needed. Secondly, actually vaping that much CBD per day would be a challenge: you would have to get through a bottle and a half of 1,000 mg e-liquid, likely about 90 ml of CBD e-juice.

How Much CBD E-Liquid Should You Take Per Day?

The above recommendation of 20 to 40 mg per day to start is good. Then increase as needed if you feel you need more after a week. Use your own judgment, but it’s better to increase slowly if you’re going above 40 mg – by 5 mg a week or so.

This does vary, though, depending on your metabolism, the condition you’re treating and tons of other factors. If you have anxiety or sleep issues, for instance, a higher dose has been shown to be effective, but there isn’t enough evidence to settle on a precise number. Most real-life CBD surveys show that higher daily doses are fairly rare: in one example, 55% of CBD users took less than 50 mg per day.

What Strength CBD Vape Juice Should I Get?

Choosing a CBD e-juice strength seems like it would be pretty straightforward, but you need to take bottle size into account. Unfortunately, most CBD vape juice sellers list the total amount in the bottle without a breakdown in terms of mg per ml or a percentage. Simply put: a 1000 mg bottle of CBD e-liquid means 33.3 mg/ml if it’s a 30 ml bottle and 16.6 mg/ml if it’s a 60 ml bottle.

You need to think about this and how much you want to actually vape each day to make your decision. For a 30 mg daily dose, the 1000 mg in a 30 ml bottle option would basically mean vaping 1 ml per day. For the 60 ml bottle it would take 2 ml to get the same dose.

Practically, you can base this decision on the size of your tank. If you have a 2 ml tank, getting a 1000 mg / 60 ml is OK, because you can get a reasonable dose if you get through a tank a day. But if you want to vape less – which is a good idea, strictly speaking – you could go to 1000 mg / 30 ml (or, equivalently, 2000 mg / 60 ml) to get the same amount of CBD from half a tank.

Generally, for a 30 ml bottle, up to 300 mg can be considered low potency, up to 600 mg as average potency and 1,000 mg or more a high potency.

Are There Any CBD Vape Juices With Nicotine?

Despite both nicotine and CBD e-liquid being very common and easy to find, there aren’t really commercially-available hemp vape juice that combine the two. However, you can certainly do this yourself if you want to. Nicotine shots are pretty common in the US/EU, and there’s nothing to stop you from adding one to your CBD e-juice. Some people do recommend against it (since the effects are contrary to each other), but overall there is no strong reason beyond preference to avoid doing it.

Can You Make Your Own CBD Vape Juice at Home?

You can easily make your own DIY CBD vape juice at home, but you’ll need to gather some ingredients first. You’ll need:

  • Propylene glycol (PG)
  • Vegetable glycerin (VG)
  • CBD isolate (≥99% pure)
  • Flavorings (terpene based or vape juice flavors)
  • Blunt-tipped syringe
  • Accurate scale (down to 0.01 or 0.001)
  • 30 ml (or 60 ml) empty bottle

Most of these things can be found at vaping stores online, although you may need to find somewhere else for the scale and the CBD isolate. Isolate is important because you can’t mix oils into something you’ll be vaping.

The process is pretty straightforward:

  • Measure out either 500 or 1000 mg (0.5 to 1 g) of CBD isolate. This depends on the strength you want the final liquid to be.
  • Add 15 ml of PG and mix. CBD isn’t soluble in VG, so you need to mix thoroughly with PG first before combining. You want it to be mixed well enough that you can’t see crystals in the mix anymore.
  • Add 12 ml of VG, mixing well again.
  • Choose whichever flavorings sound good to you and add 3 ml of them to the liquid, before giving it a final mix.

You can adjust most of this to suit your needs. For example, a 50/50 PG/VG mix works quite well, but this means you’d need to add the flavorings (usually PG-based), 12 ml of PG and 15 ml of VG. If you make the VG percentage much higher than that, you might have issues with the CBD dissolving properly, and it won’t work as well with simpler tanks. However, it can work if you have a sub ohm tank or anything with efficient wicking.

Can You Put CBD Tincture in Vape Juice?

CBD tincture is an oil, and so – despite misleading phrases like “CBD vape oil” – you can’t safely vaporize it. This is why in the instructions above you need isolate: pre-made CBD oil will contain something you can’t vape. If you mix the CBD tincture with vape juice, it might technically “work” depending on the precise amounts, but it still isn’t a good idea.

How Much Does CBD Vape Juice Cost?

The cost of CBD vape juice is pretty variable, but you can expect to pay anything from 2 to 10 cents per mg of CBD. In practice, this means that a 500 mg bottle of CBD e-liquid will likely cost about $20, although it could be as high as $50. In most cases, though, when you find CBD vape juice with a higher price per mg, it’s more that the amount of CBD per bottle is low rather than the bottle cost being high.

As an average, 500 mg of CBD in a 30 ml bottle will probably cost around $25 to $30.

Try the CBD has the strongest CBD vape juice (at 200 mg/ml), but this uses MCT oil which may be dangerous to inhale, so CBDfx (66.7 mg/ml) is the best choice.

Funky Farms has the best full spectrum CBD vape juice, offering CBC and CBN in addition to CBD. It’s technically broad spectrum though, since it’s THC-free.

CBD e-juice costs anything from $0.02 to $0.10 per mg of CBD. A 500 mg bottle will likely cost around $25.

CBD vape juice is getting more and more common as people grow to accept CBD, but the sheer volume of competition makes finding a good one more challenging. The good news is that most of the options out there today are pretty good, customers now expect lab reports (and so companies provide them) and juices crop up to meet most preferences. Prices are also impressively low. So with a few recommendations and – most importantly – an understanding of what to look for when you shop, you’ll have tons of excellent options to explore.

How We Chose Our List

Determining the best CBD vape pens is no easy job, and there’s always room for bias. To maintain objectivity, we base our best CBD vape evaluations on specific independent benchmarks. Furthermore, all of the CBD vape products on our list go through blind testing, meaning we don’t know which product it is until we assign a verifiable score.

We’ll cover these in detail later.

The best CBD pens need to tick a specific number of boxes, including hemp source, growing method, extraction, and more. Ultimately, we want to see if the product we’re vaping will provide maximum benefits with minimum health risks.

We also take price into consideration. However, the best CBD vape pens aren’t necessarily the cheapest. That’s why we base that ranking on value rather than price alone.

Third-Party Lab Reports

Critical for all vendors, lab reports are the only way to verify the content and safety of CBD vape pens and other products. These evaluations are essential because they signal transparency and guarantee that the label accurately reflects the product contents. It’s a must-have for us to consider a product as the best CBD vape pen.

Effects & Smoothness

To enjoy the best CBD vaping experience possible, it’s important to consider effects and smoothness.

Vapes don’t rely on combustion, making them essentially “smokeless.” However, these CBD cartridges contain concentrates, which require a higher temperature to evaporate. Consequently, many will find CBD vape oil to be harsher than other smoking methods.

However, vendors can take steps to make their products smoother.

Brand Reputation

A CBD vape brand’s reputation covers areas like independent customer feedback and tenure in the industry. A more substantial industry presence helps with credibility, as do positive reviews.

Vape Flavor

Flavor is subjective, so it’s difficult to say if vaping CBD oil is objectively good or bad. For instance, some people may love fruit flavors, while others might prefer something like mint. However, we keep a lookout for anything off-putting.

Typically, any vape that tastes overly “hempy” to the point where it overshadows the flavor is less likely to be a hit with customers – although many don’t mind. The vapes we reviewed taste excellent, so we base our score on how broadly they appeal.

However, given the objective nature of flavor, it’s not a dealbreaker by any means. Some of the best CBD vape pens may sacrifice flavor for beneficial effects.

In-Depth Best CBD Vape Pen Reviews of 2022

1. Bonata – Best All-Around & Highest Quality CBD Vape

About Their Vape

Despite being a relatively new CBD brand, Bonata got our number one spot for the best CBD vape pen. The strength, effects, smoothness, and vape pen quality blew our reviewer’s minds. Bonata’s CBD flower was also among the best we have seen, and they won our Best CBD Flower award.

Bonata’s CBD vape oil goes above and beyond what’s offered by similar products. Each 500mg unit is made from crystal-resistant full-spectrum CBD distillate, backed by a proprietary extraction process to retain natural compounds and reintroduced with cannabis terpenes.

In terms of safety, all of Bonata’s vapes are extracted using CO2, which leaves behind no toxic solvent traces. Every cartridge contains only the essentials – no fillers such as propylene glycol (PG), vegetable glycerin (VG), or vitamin E acetate, unlike many vape products on the market.

Sourced from U.S.-grown, organically-farmed hemp, Bonata tests its products from seed to sale, beginning with constant soil monitoring and ending with independent product analysis. Their CBD vape pen is tested for solvents, heavy metals, pesticides, microbials, and mycotoxins.

For these reasons or more, we believe Bonata offers the best CBD vape experience available.

2. CBDfx – Runner Up & Best Flavors

About their Vape

A veteran of the CBD industry, CBDfx started with essential products like oils, eventually adding e-liquids, vapes, and many other products.

If you look at the product pages, you’ll see CBDfx made a substantial upgrade to their original CBD vape pens. As a result, these 500 mg products can – according to them – last up to 800 puffs.

Unfortunately, none of their vapes are strain-specific, named after their flavors rather than their source plants. Created with broad-spectrum, CO2-extracted CBD, these products are guaranteed to contain no traces of THC.

However, CBDfx’s first foray into the vape product market followed the formula of a standard nicotine e-cigarette, using PG and VG as carriers. This recipe is something they haven’t changed to this day. Adding PG and VG dilutes the product, giving the false idea that their vapes carry more CBD than their competitors.

To their credit, any nicotine e-cigarette user knows that e-liquids like those of CBDfx require less heat than conventional oil. This difference results in a smoother vaping experience.

Despite some flaws, the concentration, longevity, broad-spectrum CBD, and excellent value mostly compensate for the brand’s PG/VG formula.

3. Just CBD – Best Value

Don’t let its name fool you. Just CBD is far from “just” CBD. Their high-quality CBD cartridges and disposable CBD vape pen options are some of the best on the CBD market.

Just CBD offers strain-specific products in a cartridge and single-use disposable CBD vape pens. Each product contains a whopping 1,000mg CBD in each 2ml unit. Unlike vendors who use PG and VG, Just CBD doesn’t contain additives.

However, because the 1,000mg units contain 2 ml of liquid, the concentration is 500 mg per gram.

Made with organically-sourced, non-GMO American hemp, these full-spectrum products pack a punch while retaining less than 0.3% THC.

Although they offer third-party lab test results on all their products, their site doesn’t mention the extraction method used. However, if they live up to their name, we hope Just CBD uses clean CO2 extraction over butane or ethanol.

4. Savage CBD – Smoothest Vape

Savage CBD built its business on safety, quality, and transparency – and it shows. Every full-spectrum vape is sourced from organically-grown domestic hemp, although they occasionally get it from Europe.

The vendor prides itself on using clean CO2 extraction and third-party lab tests with no artificial additives.

Unfortunately, they don’t provide much information about their vapes beyond natural ingredients and strength. Their cartridges contain a solid 500 mg per single gram unit, which is good for roughly 100 to 200 puffs, depending on how deeply and frequently you inhale.

Savage CBD doesn’t rely on artificial flavors. Instead, their vapes get their aromas from natural botanical terpenes. While this isn’t as good as retaining natural hemp compounds, it’s superior to artificial flavors.

It’s challenging to give flavor to a cannabis-derived vape because the “hempy” taste often overshadows the intended flavor. However, Savage CBD’s products are still tasty, and the flavor and plant compounds blend smoothly.

A major pitfall is that the products aren’t strain-specific, and without an exact list of terpenes mentioned on the packaging or website, it’s difficult to discern the effects. According to the company’s product pages, customers use their CBD vapes for relaxation and general wellness.

5. Secret Nature – Most Strain Options

Secret Nature brings 20 years of cannabis industry and cultivation experience to the table – and it shows. Their products are top-of-the-line, with the largest selection of CBD vapes we’ve seen on our list so far.

Customers can choose between disposable vape pens and cartridges. Only one disposable CBD vape pen option contains 0.3 g of live resin extract – a potent concentrate with substantial terpene and cannabinoid content.

Secret Nature’s cartridges are intriguingly labeled “true full-spectrum.” In other words, they don’t add botanical terpenes into the products like most vendors. Instead – like our top brand, Bonata – all of their vapes’ terpenes and compounds come from their source plants.

However, strain-specific full-spectrum cartridges have a strong “hempy” taste that may be off-putting for some.

Another thing we appreciate is that their CBD vapes are strain-specific, with 0.5 g options containing 700 mg of CBD and a single gram cartridge with 1200 mg.

We also appreciate how they break down the cannabinoid and terpene content by the percentage on the product page, which is handy for people who want a customized experience.

Between the high concentration, variety, and quality builds, Secret Nature delivers in every area.

Secret Nature offers an extensive list of strains, so we’ve narrowed down the top three.

6. Bloom Farms

Bloom Farms works hard to make safe, reliable products. They have many redeeming qualities, but some aspects of their vapes may be problematic.

While admittedly, the use of infused terpenes does generate better flavor than its pure full or broad-spectrum counterparts, it’s not the same as relying on natural ones from hemp.

Although their vapes carry less volume, Bloom Farms claims they still have enough for 300 puffs, nearly twice as many as most of its competitors. It seems the vendor takes a “less is more” approach to its CBD vapes. Still, at just 250 mg, users get little CBD per unit.

Of particular interest is the extraction method Bloom Farms uses. While most health-conscious vendors use CO2, Bloom says they use “gentle thermal extraction and flash activation” so that only air comes in contact with the plant material.

One problem that bothers us is how not only are their vapes not strain-specific, but none of the product pages specify the intended effects.

Bloom Farms put a lot of emphasis on clean extraction, which could have been even better with strain-specific products. However, the low concentration, artificial terpene infusion, and non-strain-specific vapes cost them points in our book.

Strains Offered

Since the vapes aren’t strain-specific and don’t list the effects, Bloom Farms claims their CBD products have a “calming” effect. We’ll cover a few examples.

  • Mediocre value, despite the low price

7. Funky Farms

Funky Farms follows many practices we look for in a high-quality, reliable CBD vape. Aside from broad-spectrum distillate options, the vendor also carries live resin cartridges, which are richer in terpenes and cannabinoids than distillate. However, the live resin is advertised as “broad-spectrum,” which is confusing since it’s made by flash-freezing raw plant matter and then extracting it with butane or ethanol. Consequently, CBD live resin will contain THC – albeit within the 0.3% legal limit.

Despite the seemingly contradictory information, having live resin and broad-spectrum options means there’s a product to fit everyone’s needs.

To their credit, Funky Farms does everything possible to stay as pure as possible. They only source from organic, non-GMO hemp cultivated in the U.S. None of their vapes contain PG, VG, cutting agents, fillers, or carrier oils – just cannabinoids and terpenes.

Another excellent feature is that the vape distillates are designed not to crystallize, ensuring you don’t lose a single drop. And at 600 mg per 1 g cartridge, that’s something you’ll want to use and enjoy thoroughly.

Although somewhat pricey and a bit ambiguous, Funky Farms strain-specific vape cartridges are more than worth a look.

Strains Offered

Funky Farms offers a wide variety of CBD vape products, so we’ve narrowed them down to the top three.

8. Koi CBD

Koi CBD has been around since the days when CBD was relatively obscure, offering a line of products focused on e-liquid and CBD tinctures.

Unfortunately, it seems these changes put plain CBD vapes on the back burner, as they offer only one strain-specific CBD vape option. However, it’s simply infused with strain-specific terpenes from cannabis rather than sourced from an actual hemp strain. Unfortunately, this 2 g full-spectrum CBD product doesn’t mention potency on its website, nor could we find information on Google. There wasn’t a link to the third-party results for this product.

Meanwhile, Koi’s CBD vape bars (which do link to test results) offer an extensive list of flavors, which is fantastic for flavor-focused users. Unfortunately, these 1 g products only contain 100 mg of CBD. Although reviews are positive, the low CBD is impractical – especially for the price point of a disposable CBD vape pen.

Flavor also comes with a price, specifically PG and VG, with no indication of the type of extract (broad-spectrum, full-spectrum, isolate).

Overall, if you enjoy fashion over function and value a flavorful vaping experience for general wellness, KOI CBD is the vendor for you. But if you hope to address any specific symptoms, it’s best to go for a more potent CBD vape product.

9. Tonic Vibes

Tonic sources its hemp from their own farms, allowing them to closely monitor their crops from seed to sale. However, they only offer a single vape pen containing a generous 600 mg of full-spectrum CBD with the terpenes limonene, alpha, and beta-pinene in each 1 g cartridge. The product isn’t strain-specific, so the terpenes are added after the fact.

One thing we appreciate is how they lay out the benefits of each terpene in great detail to give a highly accurate idea of their product’s effects.

Although some information is missing, Tonic’s high-quality full-spectrum extract is potent and still contains terpenes to provide a customized experience – albeit the only one available. It’s still a fantastic choice for people who need a good dose of CBD with the all-important “entourage effect” for a more robust, more rounded experience.

10. Eco Therapy

Eco Therapy isn’t our top choice, but they still occupy an excellent middle ground regarding the type and quality of products they offer.

Their vapes contain 1 g of CBD oil derived from organic, non-GMO, whole plant (full-spectrum) hemp grown in the U.S.A. Although not strain-specific, Eco Therapy sells three vape options, each catering to specific effects using botanical terpenes.

It’s difficult to determine their extraction method, as there doesn’t appear to be any mention of it on the site or online. However, they make their third-party tests easily accessible online, so customers can verify that the products are clear of residual solvents. The tests don’t indicate traces of butane or ethanol, so we can assume CO2 is their method of choice.

Eco Therapy gets major points for having strong potency and excellent longevity. Each vape contains 600 mg of CBD (although we had to research elsewhere to find this information), with 200 to 300 puffs per cartridge.

Despite some drawbacks, Eco Therapy’s products are designed for specific effects, which allows users to gear their purchases according to their needs. Couple that with the high number of potential puffs, and you have an excellent (albeit small) choice of top-quality vape.

What To Look for When Buying a CBD Vape Pen

With all the brands and products available, buying a CBD vape pen can feel overwhelming – especially if it’s your first time. With no regulatory standards across the board, shopping smart is the only way to get high-quality, effective, safe CBD vape pens.

The good news is you don’t need to be an expert to spot a good (or bad) CBD company. You must apply the common-sense practices you’d use to choose any supplement or food.

Buy from Reputable Brands

Being an underdog or having a small presence doesn’t mean a vendor’s products are bad. Even the largest CBD companies started with little more than a website and some basic oils.

  • Independent reviews (i.e. Reddit, TrustPilot)
  • Website (ease of use, credible information, organization)
  • Quality control (soil testing, lab analyses)
  • Affiliations (i.e., USDA, U.S. Hemp Growers Association, research projects)
  • Achievements or concerns (i.e., product awards, FDA warning letters)
  • Medical claims (reputable vendors will not make direct medical promises)

These are just a few suggestions. Again, apply common sense and a bit of intuition. Many of these companies have live chats with representatives who will answer any questions you have.

Remember: if something seems off, chances are you should look elsewhere. There are plenty of choices.

Check Third-Party Lab Reports

Again, lack of regulation is a massive issue in the hemp CBD industry. Thankfully, most vendors learned to self-regulate to remain competitive while ensuring customer safety.

In short, if a company has a fantastic product, they’ll have no problem bragging about it on paper. To that end, vendors employ independent labs to analyze their hemp and extracts for contaminants.

Third-party lab tests are easy to read and understand. The tests are easy to understand if you can read a list or pie chart.

  • Formatting issues (misaligned letters, typos)
  • Fake lab names (always Google to check)
  • Indications of photocopying (no color, faded gray letters or images)
  • Results that don’t change from batch to batch

Check Terpene Profile

Terpenes are oily compounds found in all vegetation, and critical ingredients if you’re looking for the best CBD vape pen. These substances are exclusively responsible for generating the flavor and scent of fruits, flowers, spices, and more.

For instance, limonene is a terpene responsible for giving citrus fruits their sour, zesty flavor and smell. However, limonene also may have some potential medical benefits, including energizing effects.

Other terpenes, like myrcene, have the opposite effect. Aside from being found in fruits like mangoes, myrcene is the most common terpene in cannabis and is known for its strong relaxing and sedative properties.

Thousands of terpenes exist and can be found in cannabis at varying levels and combinations.

So what does this mean for CBD vape pens? The short answer is “almost everything.” The terpenes and cannabinoids work infinitely better together, so a whole-flower full or broad-spectrum CBD pen is superior in quality and effectiveness compared to a straight isolate.

Type of Extract

Speaking of full-spectrum, the type of extract is a significant purchasing decision.

If you want to avoid THC, then a broad-spectrum product is your best choice. This option carries all the other terpenes, and minor cannabinoids with THC removed.

Isolates contain no THC and up to 98% CBD, but the lack of terpenes and other cannabinoids makes them the least practical choice.

Most vendors offer either full or broad-spectrum CBD oil in the form of dispasble vape pens, refillable CBD oils, or CBD e-liquid.

Food companies have to label their ingredients to comply with federal regulations. While hemp CBD supplement vendors may not be subject to such requirements, there’s no reason not to follow those industry practices.

If a CBD producer doesn’t post its source or ingredients, this is a massive red flag – especially for vape carts.

Vitamin E acetate – a cutting agent believed to be responsible for recent vape illnesses – is still used in illegal or unregulated cannabis vape products. The oily substance is known to damage the lungs in a relatively short time permanently.

Cutting agents also dilute the product, so the CBD per volume isn’t going to be as strong as vapes made by reputable companies.

What are the Benefits of a CBD Vape Pen?

All cannabis-derived products have advantages, and CBD vape pens are no exception. Understanding the benefits of these products is essential to determine if they’re right for you. Here are a few reasons you might want to give CBD vape pens a try.

High Dosage

Dosage requirements vary from one person to another. Tolerance, symptom severity, size, age, and even gender affect how individuals react to CBD. Whether the product is broad or full-spectrum CBD also makes a difference, since THC – even at such a low volume per weight

People who hope to mitigate severe symptoms quickly will benefit from the high concentration in CBD vape pens.

More Discreet than Smoking

All cannabis users know that the smell is quite pungent, strong, and – for some people – unappealing. Consequently, it’s impossible to hide cannabis consumption, even when it’s outside.

See also  Elderberry CBD Gummies

Vape pens are the least smelly of all the CBD smoking options. The smell left behind is mild and dissipates quickly indoors. Outside, it’s impossible for people in the vicinity to smell it.

This discreteness offers enormous versatility, meaning people can use CBD vape pens in public without drawing any attention to themselves. The fact that these products are small and easy to hide in a purse or pocket. Disposable CBD vape pens are also virtually indistinguishable from standard single-use nicotine e-cigarettes, which further helps keep their use inconspicuous.

Disposable CBD pens offer incredible value, considering the sheer concentration of these products. Aside from being easy on the wallet, the low prices make CBD more accessible than ever, regardless of your budget.

CBD vape pens are arguably the most convenient way to consume highly concentrated cannabinoids. While concentrates like resin, rosin, or pure distillates are available in loose form, getting the most out of them requires a dab rig or a concentrate vaporizer (although smoking in a joint, pipe, or bong will work to a lesser extent). Most CBD vape pens are partially or completely disposable.

CBD vape pens are available in a vast selection of flavors and cannabinoid combinations. Even long-term vapers will always find something new to try, ensuring consistent novelty.

Types of CBD Vape Pens

Not all CBD vape pens are alike. While most CBD vape pens are sold in cartridges, other options are available. There’s no right or wrong option, so choose the most convenient one.

The type of extract also varies. The best CBD vape pens are either full or broad-spectrum CBD oil. Both broad and full-spectrum products contain more than just CBD compounds. A full-spectrum CBD pen, however, contains less than 0.3% THC. Broad-spectrum utilizes all of the same beneficial cannabinoids and terpenes, with THC removed.

Disposable CBD Vape Pens

Disposable CBD vape pens are the easiest and most convenient options. They don’t require you to purchase a separate battery, and they’re easy to operate. Simply inhale to vaporize.

Refillable CBD Vape Pens

Refillable CBD pens are similar to basic refillable e-cigarettes. They come with a tank built into the battery (or separately), which you can fill with the liquid of your choice. Depending on the product, you’ll use vape oil or a specially-formulated CBD vape juice containing PG and VG.

This is handy if you want to try different CBD vape oils without purchasing an entirely new piece of hardware.

The lack of a disposable tank also makes these more environmentally friendly than their disposable counterparts.

However, CBD vape juice and oil is messier, as spills are always a concern while refilling. There’s also the risk that your CBD e-juice or oil container might leak, causing you to lose a substantial amount of product.

CBD vape juice and concentrates differ substantially when it comes to flavor. Vape juice uses propylene glycol (PG) and vegetable glycerin (VG) as carriers, just like flavored nicotine e-cigarettes. These products are therefore designed as superior flavor carriers compared to broad or full-spectrum CBD oil concentrates. Unfortunately, PG and VG may be linked to irreversible lung damage, so use CBD vape juice at your own risk.

CBD pods are pre-filled cartridges containing concentrate or CBD vape juice. The coils and atomizer are built-in and are pre-filled with vape oil. Once the cartridge is spent, simply dispose of the pod and install a new one.

Best Type of CBD Vape Pens

No type of vape pen is objectively “the best.” Some are cheaper and more convenient, but ultimately they serve the same purpose.

Anyone who wants highly concentrated, instant effects will benefit from a CBD vape pen.

Are There Side Effects to Vaping CBD?

  • Sedation
  • Appetite changes
  • Coughing
  • Throat irritation

How to Use CBD Vape Pens?

Disposable CBD Vape Pens

Disposable vape pens are easy to use. Simply buy the CBD vape pen and inhale to activate, then discard it once empty. Similarly, pre-filled disposable CBD cartridges are also available from many companies. However, the battery is reusable and can switch between products.

Refillable CBD Vape Pens

Refillable vape pens require a reusable battery (the pen component) and CBD vape oil or CBD e-liquid purchased separately.

Remove the lid from the tank as per the manufacturer’s instructions. Close the cap and allow 10 minutes for the oil to soak into the wick.

You must give enough time for the oil to absorb; otherwise, you might burn the wick and experience a “burnt hit.” Burnt hits are harsh and can irritate your lungs, not to mention permanently damaging the coil.

Do CBD Vapes Get You High?

No, CBD vapes won’t get you high. CBD is a non-intoxicating cannabinoid, regardless of the consumption method.

CBD Vapes vs. CBD Flower

CBD vapes and CBD flower work the same way, passing CBD from the lungs directly into the bloodstream. This mechanism allows for virtually instant effects.

The difference between the two is that one is a concentrated extract, while the other is simply plant matter, which can’t naturally match the same CBD concentration as a vape.

Can You Vape CBD Oil?

No, you can’t vape CBD oil. CBD oil is only meant for ingestion. If you try to put CBD in a vape, it will burn the oil rather than evaporate it.

Are CBD Vape Pens Safe?

It’s unclear whether vaping CBD is safe. So far, there’s no indication that the product poses severe health risks. But it’s important to consider that our lungs are built for air and nothing else.

As for CBD itself, the World Health Organization determined in 2017 that CBD doesn’t pose a risk of harm or abuse, citing its FDA approval as treatment for certain types of epilepsy.

Whether or not the actual vapor is harmful remains to be seen. Hopefully, future studies into vaping CBD will shed more light on the safety of CBD vape pen use.

Are There Disadvantages to Using a CBD Vape Pen?

All CBD product options have advantages and disadvantages. However, the disadvantages of CBD vape pens may not be a problem, depending on your needs. Before you try a CBD vape pen, let’s take a look at some potential drawbacks.

Shorter Effects

Although vaped CBD kicks in almost immediately, the duration of effect for inhaled cannabis (in any form) is roughly two to three hours – although it varies depending on the person.

This isn’t an issue if you use CBD for general wellness or to address sudden, short-term symptoms. But if you need something more sustained and long-lasting, a CBD vape pen isn’t for you.

Since vaporizing CBD extract requires a high temperature, the hot vapor could be harsh for some users.

One critical matter that causes some confusion is the appropriate CBD products to vape. Technically speaking, CBD vape liquid is not an oil, though you might see “CBD vape oil” advertised. It isn’t actually oil-based and should not be confused with “CBD oils.” The key here is that unlike CBD oils that are tinctures, CBD vape juice liquids are designed for vaping and are miscible in water. CBD vape liquids can be used as a tincture, but CBD oil tinctures are not to be vaped.

We have tested an copious amounts of CBD vape juice products over the last few years to find the most dependable brands. We only test CBD products with appropriate lab results from third party testing. Listed below are the best CBD e-liquids from our extensive research and testing.

What is CBD vape oil?

CBD vape oil is a term that generally refers to any vape juice that contains CBD, as opposed to nicotine. It is really a misnomer considering that it doesn’t actually contain any oil. It would be more accurately referred to as CBD vape juice or CBD e-liquid. Some are CBD vape additives that mix in with your existing flavors, while others are pre-mixed flavors. CBD is naturally-occurring in cannabis and hemp plants and has been shown to provide relief for a wide range of symptoms.

CBD e-liquid is formulated specifically for vaping, but the ingredients (VG, PG, CBD and flavorings) also happen to be edible, so they can also be taken orally. Keep in mind, it doesn’t work the other way around! CBD oil tinctures and hemp seed oil, are for oral use only because they are both oil-based substances which are not suitable for inhalation.

Will CBD vape oil get me high?

No. Most CBD vape juice is formulated with CBD isolate which contains non-detectable levels of THC. In fact, they rarely contain any other cannabinoids aside from CBD itself. Some CBD vapes, typically full spectrum CBD oil cartridges are derived from raw hemp and contain trace amounts of THC.

In both cases, CBD vapes containing up to the legal limit (0.3%) of THC is still considered to be non-psychoactive, so they will not get you high. If you’re not worried about THC, full spectrum and broad spectrum vapes can provide additional benefits beyond cannabidiol itself. They shouldn’t be confused with THC oil vapes which generally do contain THC which can get you high, unlike

Benefits of CBD vape juice

The main benefit of CBD e-liquid is that vaping it has the highest bioavailability compared to all of the other consumption methods. Most people vape CBD for anxiety, while others vape CBD for pain relief. The list goes on, but CBD has been shown potential for helping a variety of symptoms associated with:

  • Seizures
  • Insomnia
  • Neurodegenerative conditions
  • Nausea
  • Acne
  • Multiple Sclerosis
  • Parkinson’s
  • Alzheimer’s
  • Psychosis

Even if you’ve never tried vaping before, CBD vapes are an enjoyable and highly effective way to get a quick dose of cannabidiol. It’s perfectly legal, as long as it contains below 0.3% THC. In some states a medical prescription is still required.

How much CBD should I vape?

There are many personal factors that go into this including your age, weight, tolerance and most importantly your symptoms. Different conditions require different dosages. Taking it for seizures may require a higher dose of CBD than taking it for nausea, for example. Another important question to ask yourself is how often do you vape? If you vape infrequently, go with a higher strength to compensate. Use this chart as a starting point and adjust to your personal needs.

CBD e-liquid strengths:

  • 50 – 200 (Low)
  • 200 – 500 mg (Medium)
  • 500 – 2000 mg (High)
  • 2000 – 4000 mg (Very high)

Keep in mind these CBD strengths reflect the content of the entire bottle of CBD vape juice. Unlike regular e-juice, the concentration of CBD is determined per bottle (not per mL). A 30 mL bottle with a content of 500 mg is a good starting point, but for more demanding conditions 1000 mg + might be more appropriate.

Divide by the bottle size to figure out the mg of CBD per mL, then you can work out how much CBD you should be vaping. Be sure to check out the full guide on finding the right CBD dosage for you, whether you’re vaping it or otherwise.

Vaping CBD for beginners

Vaping CBD vape juice is essentially the same process as vaping non-CBD vape juice. First, make sure you are using a CBD e-liquid, not an oil-based tincture. It’s important to know the difference because they are often sold in are virtually indistinguishable bottles. If you are using a CBD vape additive, be sure to mix it into your e-juice well. Shake it up and allow time for them to blend together.

You will obviously need some type of device for vaping. If you already own a regular vape tank for e-liquid, you can also use it for CBD vape juice. Or you can purchase a separate device for CBD so you can continue using your regular nicotine-based e-liquids. Lower strength CBD e-liquids tend to be best for sub ohm devices, while higher strength ones are better suited for lower powered mouth to lung devices. This is just a general rule of thumb, but to each his own.

CBD vape pens are another way to have a dedicated device for CBD. They come in both disposable, or rechargeable styles that utilize replaceable tanks. Pod vapes have also been increasing in popularity for CBD because they use interchangeable pods, which makes it even easier to swap between CBD and nicotine.

Here are some tips for beginners on how to vape CBD properly:

  • Fill up your device with CBD e-liquid and let it soak into the coil and wick for at least 10 to 15 minutes.
  • Start slow, take a small puff and see how it affects you.
  • Experiment with bigger puffs, keep in mind you don’t need to hold it in for longer than a second, just inhale and exhale naturally.
  • You might notice a slightly earthy or bitter aftertaste. That’s normal with CBD vapes, especially with higher concentrations of cannabidiol.

CBD vaping effects

The most noticeable effects from vaping CBD oil are the calming and euphoric sensation you get from it. If you take the right dosage, it can elevate your mood and reduce anxiety. If you’re in pain, or just stressed out, you can get relief with CBD vape juice. You might not achieve it instantly, but after taking it on a regular basis you will start to notice the effects.

Some of the most commonly reported effects of vaping CBD are:

  • Elevated mood
  • Reduced stress
  • Reduced anxiety
  • Reduced pain
  • Mild euphoria
  • Improved sleep

There are some minor side effects generally associated with CBD, according to a German study conducted in 2017. The most common ones were dry mouth, and tiredness. You will need to vape a lot of CBD before you encounter these effects. If you feel them, take a break and drink some water or just take a short nap. Some people experienced diarrhea, but the study administered CBD orally using a carrier oil, which could have been responsible for causing it.

Just vape less frequently or use a less powerful device. You can cut your CBD vape with some your favorite premium e-liquids, or just purchase a lower strength of CBD e-liquid next time, or use a more appropriate device for your needs.

The most commonly reported side effects were:

  • Diarrhea
  • Dry mouth
  • Tiredness
  • Exhaustion
