The Healthy Benefits Of Eating Cannabis Seeds

We focus so much on the cannabis flowers and all their magical properties! Now, let’s give some other parts of the pot plant our attention! This time, we’re talking about seeds. To answer the immediate question, “wait, do hemp seeds contain THC or CBD?”, the answer is not really. Cannabis seeds are better used for their health benefits , as they contain significant quantities of healthy elements. Continue reading to learn about all the good stuff cannabis seeds can do to your body.

The Nutritional Value Of Cannabis Seeds

Even though cannabis seeds aren’t going to get you high, they still have plenty of nutritional health benefits. Incidentally, in this article, we’ll be using the terms hemp, marijuana, weed and cannabis interchangeably to refer to the seeds. This is because, in terms of the benefits of eating marijuana seeds, there’s no discernable difference between hemp or weed seeds – they are all equally nutritious. Here are some hemp seed nutrition facts to show you how you can elevate your diet with them!

Plenty Of Plant-Based Protein

Vegetarians rejoice – hemp seeds have LOTS of protein! Per 30g (about 3 tablespoons) of hemp seeds, you can find almost 10 grams of protein! To put that in perspective, dumping some seeds in your morning smoothie can bump you up to around 20% of your daily recommended protein intake. Hemp seeds are also a complete source of protein, which means you can find all nine essential amino acids that must be absorbed through the diet. Weed seeds are definitely one of the best sources of plant-based protein out there!

All The Healthy Fats, None Of The Others!

“Fatty food” is a term that, in general, sounds pretty taboo, but cannabis seeds are a great source of healthy (and essential!) polyunsaturated fats, especially omega-3s, with lots of health benefits. Our bodies are incapable of producing nine of these so-called essential fatty acids, all of which are crucial for long-term health, so we have to rely on our diet in order to absorb them! It’s also worth mentioning that hemp seeds, although they contain these healthy fatty acids, are still low in saturated fats and contain no trans fats.

Full Of Fiber!

Like many other seeds, cannabis seeds are chock-full of fiber! Most of this fiber is in the hull, or shell, so make sure you buy seeds with the hulls intact! However, even without, the seeds themselves will still have plenty. If you don’t already know, consuming enough fiber every day has some amazing health benefits, including good weight management, stabilization of blood sugar levels and promotion of gut health.

Get Your Daily Dose Of Minerals And Vitamins

Don’t underestimate the powers of hemp seeds – they may be small, but they are mighty and very nutritious! That’s right, hemp seeds have an extraordinary amount of vitamins and minerals such as vitamin E, magnesium, phosphorus and potassium, just to name a few. They’re also rich in other nutrients like iron, zinc, B vitamins and calcium.

What Are The Health Benefits Of Eating Cannabis Seeds?

As you now know, hemp seeds are packed with tons of healthy compounds essential to a balanced diet: omega-3s, amino acids, antioxidants, vitamins, you name it! Let’s take a look at the ways these “superfood” hemp seeds can benefit your health.

Antioxidants For Your Noggin!

That’s right, the benefits of hemp seeds extend to your brain! Lab tests have shown that hemp seed extract has antioxidant effects, which might be related to the CBD compounds found throughout the cannabis plant. CBD, as well as other compounds found in cannabis and its seeds, may have neuroprotective and anti-inflammatory effects, although more research needs to be done to support this claim. However, because of this, weed seeds can potentially help with several neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s and seizure disorders.

Give Your Heart Some Love

As mentioned before, hemp seeds are full of amino acids, especially one called arginine, which is super beneficial for heart health. Arginine, which turns into nitric oxide, is critical for artery and vein dilation, keeping your blood vessels healthy and muscles relaxed! Omega-3 fatty acids are also believed by medical experts to improve heart health and reduce the risk of heart disease by reducing blood pressure.

Hemp Seeds’ Anti-Inflammatory Properties

The same omega-3s mentioned above are also fantastic for reducing inflammation. Hemp seeds have plenty of other fatty acids as well, including gamma linolenic acid (GLA), a polyunsaturated fatty acid also known to help with inflammation. These properties are great for those with conditions that are tied to inflammation such as type 2 diabetes, heart disease and arthritis.

Great For Your Skin

Eating weed seeds can also be great for your skin! Two skin conditions, atopic dermatitis and acne, can both derive from chronic inflammation. Hemp seeds not only have anti-inflammatory properties, but also plenty of fiber and omega-3s that could help manage acne. Due to their high amounts of fatty acids, seeds may also help with other skin issues like thick calluses and cracked heels.

Get Some Relief From Rheumatoid Arthritis

Rheumatoid arthritis, an autoimmune disease, causes the immune system to attack tissues, thus causing inflammation in the joints. As previously mentioned, hemp seeds have anti-inflammatory compounds, which could be helpful for such conditions! Research has been conducted that suggests hemp seed oil has anti-rheumatic effects. However, the evidence is not yet conclusive and more studies need to be done.

How To Incorporate Cannabis Seeds Into Your Diet

To maximize the health benefits of hemp seeds, you’re probably wondering how many hemp seeds per day is okay to eat! We recommend two to three tablespoons of seeds however you prefer to enjoy them: in a salad or smoothie are great options! You don’t have to worry about cooking or shelling them – eat them however they taste best to you! There are plenty more ways to eat hemp seeds, including sprinkling them on your breakfast oatmeal or yogurt.

Homegrown Cannabis Seeds Are The Way To Go

Honestly, the most cost-effective way to have a bunch of cannabis seeds on hand is to simply grow your own! You can boost seed production (if you’re focused mainly on the seeds) by purchasing a pack of regular cannabis seeds, which normally germinate to be 50/50 male and female. This is important because cannabis plants have to be fertilized in order to produce seeds. Just plant them close to each other, and soon after the plants show their sex, males will pollinate the females, which will start to produce plenty of nutritious seeds. To source your seeds, it’s always a good idea to check Herbies . There, you can find seeds for a cannabis plant that will best suit your needs.

Hemp Seeds – Part Of A Balanced Diet!

It makes so much sense to grow hemp seeds if you’re interested in the constant streamline of health benefits. You can’t get high from eating weed seeds, but two to three tablespoons of hemp seeds per day is great for a balanced diet!

10 Amazing Medical Benefits of Cannabis

In the 19th century, everyone had cannabinoids available in their medicine chests. What then followed were decades of repression, fuelled by propaganda and lobbying. However, the world is on the brink of rediscovering cannabis as a medicine. Whether taken to combat pain, loss of appetite or inflammation, cannabis has the potential to combat the symptoms of many ailments.

Big, blond, super-fit and with a piercing stare from ice-blue eyes – Kyle Turley is a picture-book athlete. But appearances can be deceptive, because like many other professional athletes, he suffers from a range of health issues, such as headaches, depression, concussion and sleep disorders. For many years, he tried to manage these problems with a mixture of painkillers and psychiatric drugs. With zero success.

Things only started to improve when he stopped taking all his medications and started using marijuana instead. “It saved my life,” says Turley in the magazine Men’s Journal. More and more people are reporting experiences similar to his. They are turning to nature rather than pharmaceuticals.

There is one definite advantage: Occasional and low cumulative marijuana use was not associated with adverse effects on pulmonary function. This has been confirmed by a study by the University of California, carried out among a group of 5000 adults over 20 years.

But of course, all that glistens is not gold, and this applies to cannabis, too. We recently reported on Cannabinoid Hyperemesis Syndrome. Cannabis consumption undeniably carries a certain risk.

But there is barely any other medicine that can be used for so many illnesses. Here, we focus on 10 fantastic medical benefits of cannabis.

1. Cannabis combats pain

Countless patient reports and studies confirm the pain-relieving (analgesic) properties of cannabis. Definitive evidence that cannabinoids are effective in treating chronic pain comes in a report from the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine. It is based on one of the most comprehensive studies ever conducted into cannabis.

Most people take medicinal marijuana as pain relief. In particular, patients suffering from cancer, migraines or multiple sclerosis (MS) report positive experiences.

2. Cannabis relieves nausea and stimulates the appetite

HIV is not a death sentence anymore. Yet even the most successful antiretroviral therapies come with a series of unpleasant side effects. These include nausea and loss of appetite.

3. Cannabis can replace opiates

The USA is currently afflicted by the biggest drug epidemic in its history. Every day, approximately 100 people die from an overdose of opioids such as heroin or fentanyl, and there is no end in sight.

Medicinal cannabis offers a glimmer of hope. It can reduce the need for opiate-based painkillers. For many addicts, cannabis also alleviates withdrawal symptoms.

4. Cannabis may slow the progression of Alzheimer’s Disease

Even very small quantities of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) can help reduce the symptoms of Alzheimer’s Disease. The most common cannabinoids have long been claimed to have neuroprotective properties. Because Alzheimer’s is associated with inflammation of the immune system, cannabidiol (CBD) may also play a part in its treatment.

5. Cannabis eases inflammation

Naturopaths have been using marijuana to treat inflammation for thousands of years. The British company GW Pharmaceutical developed Sativex on the back of various pieces of research. This cannabis-based mouth spray has been successfully used in the treatment of the painful muscular cramps that can be triggered by multiple sclerosis.

6. Cannabis is effective against sleep disorders and nightmares

We all suffer from insomnia from time to time, counting sheep and still unable to fall asleep. Occasional insomnia is part of life, but when sleep disorders become chronic, they rapidly cause problems for the person affected. Many resort to sleeping pills which, while effective, are controversial, mainly because people can become addicted to them.

One physician’s opinion, Dr Michael Moskowitz, psychiatrist and scientific author, prefers to prescribe his patients a plant-based alternative. “I’d rather have someone on a high THC tincture at night than on Lunesta, Ambien or any such hypnotic sleeping pill. Cannabis is the best sleep medicine that I have ever used on patients.”

7. Cannabis reduces the frequency of tics in Tourette’s patients

Tourette Syndrome is a neuropsychiatric disorder that manifests itself in physical and vocal tics. It typically involves socially unacceptable comments, which can be very awkward for the person affected.

Several studies are researching the effectiveness of cannabis for Tourette sufferers. As well as reducing the frequency of tics, it is notable for its capacity to reduce anxiety and aid sleep.

8. Cannabis helps Parkinson’s patients in many respects

Parkinson’s occurs when the nerve cells in a certain part of the brain die off. After Alzheimer’s, it is the second most common neurodegenerative disease. Parkinson’s initially affects motor skills, followed by mental and psychological symptoms such as dementia and depression.

Cannabis can be a blessing for many Parkinson’s patients. Many report feeling fitter and happier, and suffer fewer tremors (shaking) and less stiffness.

See for yourself what cannabis is capable of:

9. Cannabis relieves convulsions

Anyone interested in the medicinal potential of cannabis will inevitably come across the story of Charlotte Figi. It is the story of a young girl who, thanks to a CBD-rich cannabis strain, was able to manage her epileptic attacks.

The anti-convulsive properties of cannabis have long been known. The first scientific references to this date back to 1947. The precise mechanism behind this is still being researched.

10. Cannabis reduces intraocular pressure

Glaucoma is a group of eye diseases that, in extreme cases, can lead to blindness. Increased pressure in the eye is a deciding risk factor in many cases.

Cannabis-based eye drops known as Canasol offer a remedy. An exceptionally perfidious type of glaucoma, known as angle-closure glaucoma, also includes strong pain in the eyeball. The broad effectiveness of cannabis as a painkiller, muscle relaxant and mood enhancer improves the situation of many patients.

I think the benefits of cannabis is now there for everyone to see,
the pharmaceutical industry wants to keep us using their products, so they influence the decision.
Governments throughout the world make a lot of money from them, so to legalize would cost them a lot of money. So, it is not about a sensible decision, it is all about MONEY.

Today a friend had posted on facebook a list of prescription medicines that cannibis could replace…I saw one of which my daughters doctor had prescribed..”Zoloft” and a few others. I am prescribed xanax and would much rather smoke a joint than this because it is natural. I cannot take any antidepressants whatsoever because of the horrible side effects they have..anyhow..my daughter is taking wellbutrin, effexor, and atarax..she has been diagnosed with OCD,Major depression and body dismorphic disorder. I so hate all of these meds she has to take…it takes a while to find the right combo..she was just switched to effexor in place of paxil..havent started this combo yet..today..and im truly worried..She is fifteen, has suicidal thoughts…she is absolutely beautiful. .and im not just saying that because shes my daughter..she has been bullied at school because she is so pretty..and on and on…I am 49,a single mother ..and Ya know I told a friemd the other day..Id rather for her to be able to smoke some medicinal cannibus..have that prescribed instead of all this crap she is taking..Ifirmly believe that would cure her…I just had to put in my two cents i guess. So ready to throw my hands up and say its ok ya know…she has done it with a friend a few times and told me it helped her…and…I BELEIVE HER. But of course like you say..some are not as open minded as we’d like them to be. ZOLOFT made my daughter so suicidal she cutthe inside of her arm from wrist to bend of her arm with a razor the day after coming home from a suicide prevention center who put her on the zoloft the 2nd day and upped it twice within 9 days from 100mg to 300mg and 25mg. To 100mg,. Of trazadone at night..I hope they legalize this soon where i live cuz i swear id much rather her do that then all these meds..Of course Id want it to be controlled by her doc and prescribed…but i dont think Im alone on this. Its hard fo see your kids go thru something so hard and not know how to help…ya try and try ,sorry..I guess I needed to get that out. Sincerely..M..

Just over 2 yrs ago I had a brain haemorrhage that went undiagnosed for a week
I kept being told it was migraine
Luckily my better half is a nurse and after my 4th visit to the GP she refused to leave his office until he’d arranged a scan for me
He did, they found the bleed
Anyway, back to my point
For that week I had a horrendous headache so was smoking quite a lot of weed to help with the pain and try to get some sleep
My specialist told me later that he’s firmly of the belief that the cannabis helped save my life due to it lowering my blood pressure
Handy when you’re walking around with a brain haemorrhage
That and the missus refusing to take no for an answer too
Natures medicine for a multitude of ailments ?

Thank you for your comment and for sharing your experience, that’s really amazing and I’m very glad that your specialist was so honest about cannabis helping to save your life! I hope your health is good now and that you and your better half continue to enjoy the blog.

Cannabis seed: How to use it and enjoy its health benefits

For some years now cannabis seeds have been easy to purchase, alongside the likes of chia and flax seeds. The small seeds are claimed to be healthy and have virtually no side effects. Here’s what you have to consider when consuming the seeds.

Besides, suppose you wish to collect some of the best and most unique marijuana seeds from the most significant seed banks around the world. In that case, you can shop Sensoryseeds online store and get access to BSF seeds for delivery at your doorstep in no time.

Interesting facts about cannabis seeds

Although industrial hemp has no intoxicating effects, the word hemp or cannabis is fraught with many prejudices. The consumption of hemp is considered illegal and unhealthy, despite the fact that there are now plenty of high quality weed products available on the market, from gummies and oils to tinctures and capsules. Cannabis seeds, however, are both legal and seen as healthy. They are available over-the-counter and they are packed with essential nutrients.

Use of cannabis seeds

The seeds can be used in many ways. They can give dishes an additional flavour and can also be consumed raw. Because the small seeds contain a variety of nutrients, they can be an optimal dietary supplement for people who need a higher nutrient intake.

Hemp and cannabis seeds as an extra flavour

The small seeds are easy to use in a variety of dishes. You can combine them in salads and mueslis. Hemp seeds also do well in smoothies and shakes. You can use them both for baking and make your spreads.

You can even use the peeled seeds to prepare your hemp milk, which is entirely safe for consumption.

Did you know that hemp oil is also suitable for refining dishes and recipes. You can use it for salad dressings, sauces and pestos. When preparing it, you should make sure not to overheat the oil. Since the taste of the seeds and the oil is somewhat nutty, they are more suitable for hearty dishes.

However, desserts are also made with cannabis seeds. Fruit bars that contain hemp seeds as an ingredient are often found in stores.

Cannabis seeds for athletes

Hemp seeds can not only be used because of their taste, but also because of their valuable ingredients. The cannabis seeds are especially suitable for athletes.

Cannabis seeds are said to contain an almost optimal ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 fatty acids. It also includes the rare gamma-linoleic acid. The fats ensure that the body remains efficient. Therefore, they are particularly suitable for consumption in the morning before training.

Due to the high protein content and the numerous trace elements and proteins, they help the muscles to regenerate and promote muscle growth.

Cannabis seeds for women

Hemp seeds are also suspected of being able to alleviate the symptoms of premenstrual syndrome – PMS for short. PMS often occurs a few days before menstruation and is associated with many symptoms such as cramp pain, migraines, depressive moods and food cravings.

The cause of PMS is not yet fully understood. Some women suffer from it regularly; others have no or only mild symptoms that occur irregularly. Anyone who suffers from PMS should ensure that they have an optimal supply of nutrients. Hemp seeds are particularly suitable because they contain many essential nutrients and can thus prevent nutrient deficiencies.

What are the calories?

100 grams of cannabis seeds have less than 650 calories. Hemp seeds as a food supplement for diets are sometimes controversial. A balanced hormonal balance is an essential basis for burning fat and reducing weight. The abundant amounts of protein and fibre ensure a long-lasting feeling of satiety.

But you have to note that 100 grams of hemp seeds alone already have 650 calories and thus hit the scales a lot. They are indeed beneficial as part of a diet, but one should be aware of their highenergy content.

Delicious products made from cannabis seeds

Hemp seeds are available in their variations in health food stores, in various supermarkets or on the Internet. They are available as peeled and unpeeled hemp seeds, which are ideal as a topping for yoghurt, muesli, soups and salads.

The super seeds also taste delicious as patties in a veggie burger.

Cold-pressed hemp oil provides an unusually large number of healthy fatty acids and spices up salad dressings, smoothies or soups. Since the hemp oil heats up very quickly and develops smoke, it is not suitable for frying.

Versatile cannabis seeds as flour

Hemp seed meal is a good option for those nutritional allergy sufferers who cannot tolerate gluten. Since hemp seed flour does not contain gluten or allergens, the flour can be used for all kinds of pasta. Bread, pancakes, pizza, but also sweet biscuits get a particularly nutty note and are very filling.

Whether in sweet or hearty recipes, you can always do something good for your body with a few spoons of cannabis seeds.

The cannabis plant has a lot to offer in terms of health benefits! To enjoy cannabis seeds and if you want to buy the best marijuana seeds online for your collection, check the pages of SensorySeeds.com.
